So I'm known for a lot of stupid things that I do. They're not necessarily out of idiocy, a lot of it is out of naivety, which in my case is probably the same thing haha. Anyway, this story will make me look like an idiot, but this was totally done out of naivety, I swear.
I'm sure you've noticed recently there has been this sudden "GO GREEN!" craze with everyone attempting to conserve the earth's resources. Even major companies are changing the ingredients used for their products to help our planet. Good intentions, yes. But most of these products are really expensive. Almost ridiculous sometimes. Example, Whole Foods. Good food, good for you. EXPENSIVE. Anyway, the point is, generally the expensive products are the ones that are more natural, and earth friendly.
As a gift, my mom had received Philosophy body wash from one of her coworkers. For those who do not know, this brand is pretty expensive, considering the product, yet worth the money. A bottle of the body wash alone is about $16. This was no cheap gift, yet very girly. The body wash comes in different scents, my favorite being the blackberry one, but this one we had was lemon custard. The wash is almost like a lotion, creamy and not water downed, hence the price. On the bottle, there is a recipe, according to which scent you buy. In this case, it was how to make lemon custard. So I was staring at this bottle, reading the recipe, suddenly craving lemon custard, (which I don't even like), when I had a stroke of genius. I decided to try a bit of this body wash. Considering it was expensive, it would contain natural ingredients, plus, the recipe was right there on the bottle. I read through it again to make sure all the ingredients were natural. Yup, good to go. So I poured some on my finger and ate it. NOT GOOD. Needless to say it WASN'T natural. And it didn't taste as good as it smelled. I had only wished I didn't eat as much as I did. I told my mom, she called me an idiot haha. I asked her why the recipe was on the bottle if that wasn't how they made it. Apparently, it's just if you wanted to make lemon custard, the recipe was handy. Another marketing scheme, made the product look sooo good YOU COULD EAT IT, but not really. It took a lot of water to rinse that taste out of my mouth. Now, if ever anyone attempts to endorse a product claiming to be au natural... expect me to be a skeptic.
